Filmworks 1997-2002
The films are documents of performances inspired by locations, and/or the myths or people attached to them. I wanted to physically put myself into these locations, re-creating a moment /event, real or imaginary. Themes include searching for Nirvana through indulging overdoses of pleasure or going back to the “primitive” as well as the exploration of the self or ” no self ” influenced by the Buddhist thought. There is an obsession with the sea as well as a preoccupation with loss, nostalgia and love.
