“Sur La Plage”

Upstairs at the Clerks House, Shoreditch, London.

Painted Limpit Shells.

An unknown number of limpit shells were collected from the beach and individually painted using an amateur acrylic painting set of pastel colours. Their inherent silliness and bizarre colour prompts us to question our perception, as if our eyes have been suddenly flooded by technicolour while the 2D dots of an imaginary french impressionist painting ” Sur La Plage” seem to step out of the surface of the painting and become 3D.
